CRLL’s mission in many ways anticipated the more recent shift in UK higher education policy towards capturing the economic and social impact of research.  We have sought to meet the growing expectations of stakeholders who seek to benefit from the ideas and knowledge generated through our work. 

One of the most fruitful ways for exchanging knowledge and understanding with stakeholders is through various forms of consultancy.  CRLL has a successful record of this form of external engagement with a diverse range of clients in the public and private sectors. 

Our contracts include work in the fields of skills development, policy advice and critique, qualifications frameworks and wider community aspects of lifelong learning.  Our advice is built around CRLL’s informed, authoritative and independent experience in the evolution of the Scottish and international systems of lifelong learning.
